Reclaimed Water

After treatment, effluent water from the wastewater treatment plant is pumped to several locations throughout the City where it is land applied for irrigation purposes. These applications are as follows:

Reuse: Land Application #1: An existing 2.0 MGD annual average daily flow (AADF) permitted capacity slow-rate public access consisting of an interconnection with the North Sumter Utilities WWTF, under an agreement with The Villages Water Conservation Authority.

Reuse: Land Application #2:An existing 1.3 MGD annual average daily flow (AADF) permitted capacity slow-rate public access consisting of major and minor users within the existing service area, including Wildwood Community Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.

Reclaimed/Reuse Land Application #3: An existing 1.25 MGD annual average daily flow (AADF) permitted capacity Part IV rapid-rate land application system, consists of 10 Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIB) of 601,500 ft2 of total bottom area.
